Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

NR6.ca (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides NR6 filing and related Canadian non-resident rental tax compliance services. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

To prepare and file your NR6 and related returns, we may collect:

  • Identity information: full name, country of residence, contact details.
  • Tax identifiers: Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Individual Tax Number (ITN), where required by the CRA for filing.
  • Property and financial information: rental property address, rental income, and expenses.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data: basic analytics such as pages visited, used only to improve the site.

2. Why We Collect It

We collect personal information solely to deliver the service you request: preparing, reviewing, and submitting your NR6 form, monthly remittances, NR4 slip, and Section 216 return to the CRA, and acting as or coordinating with your Canadian agent. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

3. Consent

By submitting your information through our intake form and completing payment, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions, by contacting us — though doing so may prevent us from completing your filings.

4. How We Share Information

We disclose personal information only as necessary to provide the service:

  • Canada Revenue Agency (CRA): as required to file your returns.
  • Your Canadian agent: the resident agent who co-signs your NR6 and handles remittances.
  • Service providers: Stripe (payments) and Google Firebase (secure data storage and hosting), who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations.

Some of these providers process or store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States). Where that occurs, your information may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

5. Data Retention

The CRA requires tax records to be retained for a minimum of six years. Accordingly, we retain filing-related records for at least six years from the end of the tax year to which they relate, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law.

6. How We Protect Your Information

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) across the site and intake forms.
  • Encrypted, access-controlled cloud storage (Firebase).
  • Payment handling delegated to PCI-compliant Stripe; card data never touches our servers.
  • Access to personal information limited to personnel who need it to deliver the service.

7. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent (subject to legal/contractual limits).
  • Request deletion of information we are not legally required to retain.
  • Make a complaint about our handling of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

8. Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand site usage and improve the experience. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
